Within hours of calling them on a Saturday night, Roto-Rooter showed up and diagnosed our problem, collapsed trap in our front yard. They were able to quickly schedule us for the coming Tuesday. They coordinated with all the utilities to get everything marked off and ready to dig, and even when there was a hiccup with the gas company, they hung around and waited for the resolution. The crew that was on site was polite, helpful in explaining in layman‘s terms what was going on, and they cleaned up as well as they could after the fix. Nobody wants to have their sewer go bad, but these guys made it as painless as possible.

I’m writing this review to recommend Roto-Rooter for their same-day, efficient service during a very important holiday week when I had family arriving in just a few days. I was impressed right from the start when a real person (not a robot!) actually answered the phone early in the morning, well before normal business hours, which is practically unheard of these days.
The timing of their response was perfect. The issue was difficult to diagnose at first since nothing major had happened to cause an issue, but one of the toilets had started bubbling in the early morning and a few others then started acting strange and unpredictable. Tyrese and Matt, the supervisor came to the rescue and were professional and knowledgeable. Their expertise and persistence got everything working properly again, and I was extremely relieved with the outcome.
I’m giving them a full 5-star review because their service truly deserves it. However, I do want to offer one helpful note for future customers:
Be sure to prepare your home ahead of time if possible with towels, tarps, or something protective on the floors, especially if you have carpets. The equipment that was used had large wheels covered in mud and unfortunately some ended up on my carpets which had just been professionally cleaned the day before. This is simple to prevent with a little prep, and I really hope this helps others avoid the same situation.
Overall, Roto-Rooter delivered excellent service when I needed it most, and I’m grateful for their responsiveness and professionalism.

I had a great experience with Roto-Rooter in Buffalo, New York. Edwin arrived promptly, was professional, courteous, and explained everything clearly before getting started. He worked efficiently and did an excellent job unclogging the issue, making sure everything was working properly before leaving. I am very disappointed with my experience with Roto-Rooter. My tenant called them because there was dirty water backing up in the basement of my apartment building.
Their technician came and snaked the pipe, telling us there was a lot of mud and tree roots in the line. He said another technician would need to come with a camera inspection to further check the problem.
The next day a technician came with a camera and told me the entire sewer line needed to be replaced, otherwise dirty water would keep backing up into the basement whenever the tenants used water. He also warned that the water could damage the walls and equipment in the building. When I asked for the cost, he told me it could be up to $8,000.
Because this was very expensive, I decided to call another plumbing company for a second opinion. When the second company inspected the pipes, they discovered that Roto-Rooter had actually snaked the wrong pipe — the water line instead of the sewer line.
I am extremely disappointed and concerned that the technician did not even realize it was the wrong pipe, yet still recommended replacing the entire line for thousands of dollars.

BEWARE: They are unethical!!! I just had a cable clean out in my basement sewer, the tech and paperwork said it was was guarantee 6 months. Not even 10 minutes after he left, some other representative "Mac" asked if he could come out to scope the pipes, I should have never let him in my house. He said i needed to "jet" the sewers for an additional $1000. Never said a word to me about voiding my guarantee on the service I just paid. Left my house, sent me a service proposal and voided my guarantee via email. Manager was supposed to call back and I left two messages with no return call. They target older homes they service and are snakes, no pun intended.
