I hired Rio Grande Septic for a routine septic tank pumping when I was having absolutely no issues. Everything was working fine prior to their visit.
About 3 weeks after they claimed to have completed the service, my system started backing up—something that had never happened before. That alone was a huge red flag.
We checked the tank ourselves and found it was still full of sludge. Because of that, we called a second company for a professional opinion, and they confirmed that the septic tank had NOT been pumped at all.
After the service, I even attempted to pay the invoice over the phone on two separate occasions. Each time, I was told they would call me back to take my credit card information—but they never did. Looking back, I’m thankful that payment was never processed.
This turned a simple routine maintenance into a stressful situation that required me to hire another company to actually do the job correctly.
Very disappointed in the lack of honesty and professionalism. I strongly recommend getting proof of service before paying or trusting Rio Grande Septic.
I would not use them again.

Shawn from Rio Grande Septic was great! He came to make sure everything was working well with my septic system. He came out to my property and told me that everything was fine. He also gave me a few pointers in regards to the system. I will continue to use Rio Grande Septic. I appreciate you Shawn!!--Stacy

Had a septic service supposedly completed, but I was still experiencing plumbing issues. Had another reputable company coming out come to find out septic tank was never completed..Make sure that you get a company that does the job right and doesn't just do what they can! Lol, follow up is IMPERATIVE!! The fact there was no concern or empathy....

Please do not make the mistake of using Rio Grande Septic. They completely destroyed my back yard when they installed my septic tank . They never told me to move anything on my yard that might be in the way for them. Rio Grande Septic came in and totally left a mess in my back yard from ruining my trees that where no where near the area , broke my drip system lines, moved a big bolder rock on to my grass and left it there , they never moved it back into place after the owner Shawn Said he would send he’s guys to move it back. Shawn is very unprofessional. He is the one that should make things right for you not make things worse. They also removed my entire fence and broke it, after trying to ask the owner Shawn very kindly to come to our house to come to a happy medium to resolve all the issues he bullied us and harassed us numerous times . So sad that his employees are more professional than him.

A little over 2 yrs ago they came out and pumped our septic tank, but it just backed up last night, so we got somebody else (Albuquerque Septic Services) and he found a build up plug that had obviously taken way more than 2 yrs to build up, so Rio Grande had not done a thorough job cleaning the line from the house to the tank, or that build up could not have happened that fast, as there's only 2 of us, and we travel a lot! My wife remembers the Rio Grande guy spending more time on his phone than taking care of business!
