Horrible service, overcharged, and then the refund check bounced. Easily the worst experience l've ever had with an in-home repair company. The job was a slow floor drain in the basement, which led to replacing the pipe it led to. Ultimately, the work got done and the technicians were good. But communication with the manager I worked with, who scheduled everything, was terrible. His initial diagnosis of the problem proved to be wrong. I didn’t hear anything for days after being promised a call, and was then told I was already on the calendar for a date that I wouldn't even be home for. Calling the main office was of no help because they apparently don't know what the manager is up to. Having to pay up front - before work was even done - really left me in a bind after the wrong work was initially done. The manager's first response to me asking for an accurate price was to extend the warranty instead. We eventually agreed on a price, only for me to have to ask four times to get the refund I was promised. When I finally got the check, it bounced! To their credit, One Hour Rooter did issue another check with the bounced check charge. I’m glad I switched to communicating with this manager by text message only so I had everything in writing. I was having issues with my toilet flushing and was able to quickly get on the schedule for One Hour Rooter. Sean, my technician, was on time, friendly, and worked on the issue until it was sorted out. He was also patient with me and worked independently while I was on work meetings, too, which I really appreciate. It was $99 for him to look at the toilet, try to clear any clogs, and make some adjustments in the tank, which got the flushing working again. I don’t know if that’s a normal price since this is (fortunately) my first time needing to hire a plumber, but it seemed like good value to me. Would definitely recommend!

Update: After the drain cleaners left abruptly following their breaking my pipe, I was able to reach management. Management was professional and agreed to fix my pipe at no cost. Unfortunately, they couldn’t get out that same day, but he did send someone right away the next morning. I waited a week to edit this, just to make sure that the pipe didn’t leak. So far, so good. The drain is working properly and there isn’t any more leak from my pipe. I appreciate rooter doing the right thing and fixing this problem. I am always willing to give companies a chance to make things right. I will say, if the company had waited a day or two to send out the original review request, this prior review would have been written differently. But they sent the review request while the workers were still there. Of course, at that time, I was upset because they were refusing to fix the pipe, and the first level supervisor mimicked that answer. It wasn’t long after that Management got back to me. The premature review requests continued the next day, when management called me while the plumber was still in my home fixing my pipe. He asked me to take down the review if I was satisfied with the work. Maybe it is just me, but I feel very intimidated being asked for money or something like this while people are still in my home. I also feel that this call would have been more appropriate after the job was finished, to make sure it was finished correctly. Rooter seems to put their time and energy into collecting money and fixing the reviews, instead of initial good service in the home. (They had charged my credit card after the initial estimate, before the first workers had even arrived.) I have updated my review because Rooter came out and fixed the problem, which I greatly appreciate.

They broke a pipe going to my basement while flushing my drain. They said someone would reach out to me Monday (service was on Saturday). They left it wet and dripping in my laundry room (wet wood, gross drainage on my washing machine and my floor). They didn’t clean up and refused to fix it unless I paid them an additional $2150.

Sean was amazing! I almost feel bad for having him to my place for a very easy fix but he was understanding and we both had a good laugh about it. He was very professional and honest, which is fresh these days, when dealing with any sort of plumbing/drain/electrician and what not. I hope to work with Sean again in the future!

Thank you, Great Job 👍. Sean first came to assess my home's plumbing problem with the clogged kitchen sink. Sean came thankfully just today after I called for this help. And I believe chose the best solution offered as outlined by Sean. Ryan, the Lead technician came quite quickly and began working after we spoke, and I found him to be personable and a very good communicator. Technician Chris arrived soon after and together they diligently worked on the project, which was to flush out the clogged kitchen sink pipes (from years of buildup) and also to flush out the mainline of my homes plumbing, and also the drain pipe connected to that part of the plumbing system in the basement with their dedicated equipment. Everything now works smoothly, especially in the kitchen sink and attached dishwasher so I used it all again this evening. I am so glad the plumbing system in the home is now working efficiently, and I also now have the year warranty regarding the work that this very helpful and efficient company completed today for me to solve this Big problem. Thank you to All !!!
