I try to be a DIYer as much as possible, but this job seemed to be one I needed to leave to the professionals. I'm glad I called Metcalf. Mike and Steve were professional, efficient, and neat from start to finish. I was experiencing water hammer in my system and was concerned that water pressure from the street was regularly exceeding 90 psi. They spent time evaluating the situation and then Mike explained my options, which included installation of a PRV on the main water line and an expansion tank on the water heater. He did not try to upsell me on additional services. In fact, I was the one who asked him to also evaluate and repair a corroded and leaking 3/4 inch pipe as well as replacing the main water shutoff (a 70 year old gate valve) with a ball valve. He explained costs, I agreed to the work, and they set to it. They were done inside of 3 hours. Since I just wanted the work done, I did not get other estimates, so I can't evaluate whether their costs were higher than other local companies (it was a pricey job, but I think costs of are just all around high these days). In the end, I was very satisfied with the service I received from Metcalf and wouldn't hesitate calling them again in the future.

I could tell right away from talking to Mike that I was in good hands. He is intelligent and skilled at what he does. He diagnosed my issues and fixed everything the same day. I had a leaky bathtub faucet and I also upgraded a few outdoor faucets to be frost-free with built-in vacuum breaker. Be aware their services are very pricey, but I sleep better at night knowing it was done correctly and that they stand by their work with a warranty. I won't hesitate to call them in the future.

This was an excellent experience from the first phone call to wrapping up my hot water heater install. My plumbers were experts and friendly. They worked efficiently and explained everything. I felt the exact vibe any homeowner would want to feel having this work done. Definitely the company I'm calling first.

We had a hot water heater and sump pump replaced in 2022. There have been no issues with either, as one might expect for the $4000+ we paid.
We had an unrelated water leak in January 2026. Metcalf was able to rule out the toilet as the source of the leak, but because it was loose, I had them replace the wax ring and was told the toilet was secure. Total bill: $906.
I noticed the toilet was loose after a few months, but forgot to call before the 90-day warranty period. Metcalf would not honor the warranty, as is their right. They also did not offer a discount on getting the job done right.
Metcalf is overpriced and won't stand behind their work beyond the minimum. Look elsewhere for a better deal if you can.
