It was Good Friday, after hours, no AC on a hot night, with health concerns related to the heat—and I was worried we wouldn’t find anyone to help replace a P-trap after it was cracked by our HVAC company while trying to clear the line. I prayed and asked God to guide me to the right person.I searched Google, and the first company that stood out was James Plumbing.
When I called, the sweetest and kindest lady answered the phone, not a recording, but a real person. That alone meant so much. She listened, understood the urgency, and reached out to James, who said he would come. What a blessing that was!
From the moment I opened the door, I knew there was something special about him. He was professional in every way, clean, sharp uniform, and a work van that was just as just as clean, organized and impressive.
He carefully assessed the issue and got to work right away. His workmanship was exceptional. He was intentional, thorough, and took great care in everything he did, while also working with confidence and efficiency. He made sure we understood what he was doing to replace the p-trap and to make sure the line for clear for drainage from the HVAC unit.
James is an old-soul kind of young man. After my husband handed him a check to pay him, James didn’t rush off. He even took time to talk with my husband about old cars. He showed a genuine appreciation for the conversation and it was refreshing to hear about the old cars he has bought. These conversations matter. James wasn’t in such a hurry that he overlooked simple, meaningful kindness—and he seemed to have a heart of a servant.
For a late evening, holiday repair, the price was reasonable and fair, which we deeply appreciated.

I called James plumbing to check on a leak in my bathroom. My house is raised and to be thorough, he looked under the house for any additional areas that needed repair. I told him anything that was leaking needed to be repaired for my bathroom remediation. The next day, he came to repair the leaks. Before he left, he wanted to make sure everything was running okay and seemed concerned about the hot water. It felt fine to me at the time. After they left, I went outside and saw that he capped a line I had mentioned for a later project and left trash all under the house. The night went on and the hot water was not hot and had almost no pressure. I called on Monday and James plumbing was full of excuses: it was the city (to contact the city because they didn’t want to charge me a house call). Then, it was probably sediment in the pipes because the house is old. I had another plumber come out. He said all sorts of things were capped off. Turns out, the water going to the water heater was capped. So, no water going in and none coming to the faucets. When presented with this information, he said that he just capped off what I told him. I’m not a plumber, I trusted him to do the right thing. Not once did he entertain that he could have made a mistake. He would only come to check if he was paid again. He charged $450 and I had another service come to fix it for $900.

James Plumbing arrived promptly, had prepared for the issues I informed them about and provided a trustworthy assessment of my various plumbing problems. Three workers quickly (and cleanly) took care of the job and showed me their work every step of the way.

Our gas lamps on the front porch were not working properly. James came out, blew out the gas lines and got it fixed in less than 10 minutes. He was extremely professional and courteous, will use them every time!!!

James was referred to us by a friend of ours. Before I called, I read his Google reviews. Even though I trusted our friend, I wanted more proof. There is a reason why he has so many 5-star reviews - this guy is good. He repaired a leak to an outdoor faucet. He showed up when he said he would. More importantly, he is a perfectionist. Highly recommend!
