I had two hot water tanks joined together that were over 20 years old, and one died and the other was trying to. I had a different company come out and quote to replace, and was told a crazy high number. So I called around for quotes, and not only did Caper Plumbing come in lower than the competition, they were so accommodating to my schedule and flexible with fixing it when I was available. I ended up with one huge tank and new venting for less than the cost of one small tank from other companies. Having piping hot water again feel so luxurious!

I have called Matt at least 4 times to work on an older rental house. The tenant cancelled two of these calls because she said her husband fixed it. I am sure this was an inconvenience but Matt was just business like and matter of fact. This last visit to the house he was quick and efficient. The cost of the work is in line with other plumbers so I appreciate the good natured way he does things.

Matt did the quote for us and we told him specifically that a wall had to be built in the bathroom first (for the faucets/shower) and the insulation/vapor barrier (even showed him the fiberglass insulation we had) had to be installed first by my contractors before the plumbing work started. He said he got it and agreed that he would coordinate with my contractor, who he also knew. We trusted him and left the key for them to come in the house while we were away for a week. When we were back, the new bathtub was in without faucets as the wall was not built and no insulation. We spent extra time and effort to put the insulation and vapor barrier in with the tub there. He could have contacted us first if he was unable to coordinate with the contractor. The job should pause. We are the owners, not the contractors or him. Instead, without any communication with us, they just installed the tub while they still needed to come back to installing the faucet. We just let it go and moved on without complaining and paid 85% according to his invoice. They had me go back to Rona to get a cartridge replacement as he said the brand new set I got was defective too. For the last visit, the technician, Cody, showed up and replaced the cartridge and ensured there was no leaking from the drain. (Cody assisted another plumber during previous visits while I was out of town.) We had a good chat and I told him that we weren’t happy with Matt as he couldn’t get his clients’ request right after agreeing or how he delivered the info to his staff. Cody was helpful and I would definitely hire him for future work if he no long works for Matt. Cody helped to deliver my unsatisfactory to Matt and Matt left me a voicemail immediately questioning why was I angry with his guy (even I wasn’t angry with Cody at all). He threatened me for an extra trip charge and emailed me another invoice of almost $200 extra with a work list that either not true or it’s already included in the initial quote. He should at least communicate with his staff first before accusing his clients. Except the initial quote meeting, he became rude and threatening. He doesn’t care about customer satisfaction and doesn’t like being asked simple questions or willing to listen. I was planning to replace the water tank to a tankless and consulted Cody about it while he was there, but now I paid the rest of the 15% and I am sure I will never deal with this company again. Go ahead and send me another invoice for your time reading my review, dear owner.

Called Caper Plumbing for an issue at a rental property. That same day, Matthew was able to head over and inspect what was happening. Very professional, and great communication from everyone in the company. Would highly recommend for any plumbing needs!

Matthew replaced my hot water heater. He gave me the best price and was very professional, efficient and personable with excellent customer service. I will definitely call him again if needed. I highly recommend him! I also had a new humidifier installed on my furnace. Same excellent work, same great service! Thank you!
